Water & Climate. It's all about change.
Building climate resilience for water, sanitation and hygiene is not just a crucial response to the crisis. It also holds the promise of being a key solution for both climate change adaptation (community resilience to climate change) and contributor to mitigation (avoiding and reducing global warming and its related events).
2021 marked the eleventh year since the UN General Assembly adopted the resolution 64/292, which explicitly recognized the Human Rights to Water and Sanitation. To celebrate this milestone, SWA prepared a communication toolkit and key messages to promote the importance of Affordability.
Promoting affordability is central to SWA’s work. Our multi-stakeholder approach brings everyone around the same table, including the governments that are responsible for providing access to services; the service providers (public and private) that deliver the services; the regulators that ensure that services are affordable through intelligent design of tariffs and subsidies; the civil society organizations that keep the government accountable and inform the population about their rights; and the researchers and experts that look for the best solutions for each country and context.

Agua, saneamiento e higiene. Un asunto de Mujeres.
En el Día Internacional de la Mujer 2021, SWA defendió el agua y el saneamiento como vías fundamentales para transformar las relaciones de género. No solo apoyan a las mujeres y las niñas como agentes de cambio para llevar una vida sana y participar en actividades sociales, económicas y políticas, sino que no puede haber igualdad de género sin un acceso igualitario al agua y al saneamiento.
Derechos Humanos al Agua y al Saneamiento
2020 marca el décimo año desde que la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas adoptó la resolución 64/292, que reconocía explícitamente los Derechos Humanos al Agua y al Saneamiento (DDHHAS).
Para celebrar este hito, SWA diseñó materiales de comunicación para apoyar a los socios y otras partes interesadas en el sector del agua, el saneamiento y la higiene, sobre cómo el reconocimiento de los Derechos Humanos al Agua y al Saneamiento tiene un impacto positivo en la vida de muchas personas en todo el mundo.
