Bolivia joined SWA in 2021. The government promotes equitable and reciprocal development, in harmony with mother earth, through the integrated management of water resources, access to drinking water and sanitation, irrigation for food security, and the comprehensive management of the environment and life systems for a better life for all – and in alignment with Law No 300 “Framework Law regarding Mother Earth and Integral Development to Live Well”. MIAGUA, a flagship government program, seeks to provide drinking water and sewerage services and to increase local resilience to climate change with the purpose of ensuring poverty reduction, reducing environmental pollution, and improving the living conditions of the population.
