The Water Governance Indicator Framework provides a voluntary multi-stakeholder self-assessment tool to understand the performance of water governance systems at city, basin, regional or national scales. Its primary objective is to stimulate a transparent, neutral, open, inclusive and forward-looking dialogue across governments and other stakeholders on what works, what does not, what should be improved and who can do what. It is also a tool supporting the implementation of the OECD Principles on Water Governance.

This report takes stock of the OECD Water Governance Principles’ use and evolving practices, and provides an indicator framework building on lessons learned from their implementation in different countries and contexts. It is aimed at interested cities, basins, regions and countries wanting to strengthen their water policies.

Accountability mapping tools are participatory instruments developed to assess the status and quality of accountability lines within the water and sanitation sector. These spreadsheet-based tools produce graphics of
the water sector, represented as a comprehensive system of accountability relations involving policy makers, service providers and communities.

This online course is intended to build the capacity of WASH professionals so they can support national governments in improving WASH service delivery. It presents existing approaches, processes, tools, resources, new thinking, and innovative mechanisms for strengthening the EE for WASH service delivery. WASH BAT has been designed as a sector tool for use by governments and development partners for WASH sector strengthening. It enables a systematic identification of factors (or “bottlenecks”) that prevent achievement of sustainable service delivery within national or subnational WASH targets and helps stakeholders to define activities aimed at removing the root causes of these bottlenecks.

A CRC is a simple but powerful tool to provide public agencies with systematic feedback from users of public services. The target audience includes officers of local governments, civil society organizations, development agencies, and consortiums.

This is a user guide for carrying out Poverty and Social impact analysis (PSIA) of policy reforms relevant to all sectors, including WASH. It also elaborates on the broad range of analytical tools and techniques that can be used for PSIA. It is intended for practitioners undertaking PSIA in developing countries.
