This October, Sanitation and Water For All’s high-level Sector Ministers’ Meeting, hosted by the government of Spain, will take place in Madrid. Here, ministers will work together and solve for some of the complex issues facing their regions around water, sanitation and climate.
The world is facing a range of interconnected crises—climate change, geopolitical tensions, pandemics, and economic instability. Access to water and sanitation is interwoven into all of that. Addressing these challenges requires collaboration, trust and shared commitments, and time spent in person to build trust and connection, to problem solve and brainstorm.
Collaboration is more necessary now than ever, and over three days of meetings, shared learnings and discussions, ministers and leaders from around the world will build relationships and shared solutions for the complexities they face.

Sector Ministers Meeting (SMM)
Is an opportunity for ministers responsible for water, sanitation and hygiene to share and learn from others’ experiences as they progress towards national SDG targets. The SMM is also the moment when SWA partners present and report on commitments they make as part of the SWA Mutual Accountability Mechanism
